Livemusik: Lonely Tourist & Chris Webb

Mittwoch, 12. September 2018, 20:00 Uhr

Lonely Tourist delivers a 'beard pop' and 'pub-step' like a greyhound out the traps. The tunes - much favoured by Steve Lamacq and Gideon Coe (BBC 6music) - are largely upbeat and joyous, despite the sometimes bleak subject matter. Imagine Malcolm Middleton taking a happy pill, and this might be the result.

Lonely Tourist has released three well received albums and performed hundreds of gigs all over the UK. He is also is a founder member of the band Plume of Feathers who's debut single was playlisted on BBC Radio Scotland.

"Put simply to the uninitiated we're watching Johnny Cash with the broadest Scottish accent" - Bristol 24-7

Chris Webb joins Lonely Tourist for this trip on the continent. He puts in a couple of songs and his intricate guitar playing. With these two teaming up the lyrics are often clever, the melodies are often memorable, and the harmonies - depending on how much fine German beer has been taken on - are not too shabby.
